A complete classic with Ennio Morricone's timeless soundtrack "Ecstasy of Gold". 

And the actor that drove this movie to classic status:  Eli Wallach, as Tuco, the "Ugly".  No, sorry, but credit does not rightly go to Clint.  Simply playing the protagonist role doesn't earn that.  Eli's portrayal of the ever annoying Tuco is where this film gets it's classic and lovable flavor.  The guy you want to slap across the face through the whole film and who made the film's ending immortal.   Clint's performance of the ever stoic "Good" Blondie was well done, but alone would have made the film dull, frankly.  Lee Van Cleef did an excellent job as the evil incarnate "Bad", but in real life was  anything but, as he was unable to play the scene where he very harshly slapped a woman, even when the woman insisted it was okay.  A stand in had to do it for Lee.

Eli should have been given much more recognition for his value to the film's classic status.  It's a shame that didn't happen while he was alive.  I've seen the film a dozen times or more.
