FF up to 80 min in. Maybe that will bypass the ad. It doesn't get down to business and start really talking Omessiah before 80min anyway.

I do video pretty well.

Where did this Obama Deception film come from? Is it one of Prison Planet's copyrighted films?

Normally, public access TV specifically forbids any commercial content whatsoever.

If it is Prison Planet's copyrighted work, cutting out the ad or any logos is serious trouble legally if they come after you.

That means making a new DVD. They just stopped taking VHS . So this means some specialized software to edit the the Ads out.

I checked. It's an Alex Jones film, sells for $19.95.

You're lucky the public access channel turned you down. It would be grounds for Jones to sue you and win easily.

We do believe in private property here at 4um, don't we?

Jones wants this spread around. Did he say it couldn't be shown on Pub Access?

If you had Alex's written permission there would be no problem. But it is doubtful if he would give permission if his ad(s) was/were deleted.

Sure he does. At $20 a copy, people can have all they want.

Did he say it couldn't be shown on Pub Access?

You'll discover that his copyright and his lawyers will speak for him on that issue.

I've played EVERY ONE of his movies on TV.

What's the problem now?

His copyright would make no difference assuming he has given his permission (in writing) to show it. However, it is doubtful (to me anyway) that he would give permission to show the video edited in any way and certainly not the removal of his ad. Most people wouldn't agree to that. At least I don't think they would.

He wouldn't anyway. He can't.

If he allowed that, then any eBay scammer could sell it at any price, destroying Jones' profits.

If Jones fails to pursue his copyrights and protect them, it becomes an implicit permission for people to take it for their own. This is how jello became a generic trade name back in the Fifties and how it became known as "Jell-O™". Believe me, they guard their trademark property now. It's the classic example of the need to protect trademarks and copyrights.

In truth, I should actually include a footnote to acknowledge that "Jell-O™" is a registered trademark of the Jell-O Corporation or some such. I suppose their lawyers will let it slip for a forum posting. But if this were a magazine or TV show, they'd be right on it with cease-and-desist letters or demands for public corrections.

On your TV? Or you broadcast them?

When you purchase a DVD, for instance, you actually purchase the right to keep a private copy and show it in your own home. That is not the right to broadcast it to others, even on a free broadcast channel.

If AJ complimented whoever uploaded OD to YouTube, one would think that he would want to get the word out over local access channels.

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard him say, "Burn it to disc, make copies and hand them out..." I'd be very well-off.

thats ridiculous, as is the public access excuse for not running it. Alex Jones encourages everyone to run his films on public access. In the past he even stated that he will fax or email a permission form to anyone who needs it in order to air it,.

I would threaten to file suit against the public access for free speech violations. watch them turn over. i would send a certified letter stating that, and i assume the following is true, that there was NO 'posted prohibition' against documentaries in their user agreement, if you even signed one. that you will not tolerate veiled discrimination and that you expect a response in 3 business days.

i have done this 3 times in various situations and worked like a charm. if you want details of the 3 situations let me know. be sure to send the letter certified with a return reciept as proof they recieved it. i get the electronic return reciept option, which is 85 cents or a buck at u s postal service.

The Pub Acc did NOT turn me down. It was my knowledge of their regulations I was talking about.

Anyhow I have a newly created DVD that I will be running.

What an ignorant fucking statement.

the regulations themselves sound like unreasonable bs to me anyway. i highly doubt they would hold up if aggressively challenged. how did you edit the dvd?
