Stephen Moore, senior economist at FreedomWorks and once a senior economic adviser to former President Donald Trump, has issued a grim prediction about America's electric vehicle (EV) market, saying EVs are poised to be automakers' "next big flop."

Tell me about that too.

I had a physicist from Raytheon explain to me why battery tech will never be up to the task many years ago. It was way above my pay grade.

It doesn't matter, this "green energy" and "global warming" delusion is about limiting the peon's mobility and stripping them of their human rights.

Period. Full stop. As Karen Gene the lesbian Pee-er would say.

but it will fall upon the deaf ears of the Men who just wanted to be left alone.”

dagnabbit and I didn't buy stock of neither of them.

it comes down to hole/electron flow theory and then you have to contend with the biased diodes, watch your back around zeners.

I knew this kid that was an electronics tech. He peaked and tuned my old 23 channel CB radio and turned it into 40 channels before 2 meter officially went to 40 channels. I haven't seen him in years so no idea if he is still kicking. Man, that radio could talk. ;)

I heard one of those Tesla electric vehicles burned to the ground and there was no wrecker that would touch it because they considered the batteries to be HAZ MAT. ;)

One? Try hundreds or thousands.

I was recalling a specific article I read. The article included information that no wrecker would touch the smoldering remains because of the contents of the batteries in the Tesla were unknown, and that they were classified as Haz Mat. ;)

Lithium batteries are extraordinarily dangerous. Lithium combusts when exposed to water.

Lithium Battery Explosion

Lithium is very close to Sodium in the Periodic Table. Both are highly combustible and even explosive when exposed to water.

Just ask the kid named Andy who was expelled from High School in Chicago for throwing Sodium metal into the urinal in the boys room and blowing it up.

He must have worn gloves to get it out of the chemistry lab since it will react with the moisture on your fingers and burn them. ;)

I think electric cars are responsible for insurance rates going through the roof. No matter what happens to an electric car, it's a total loss. (Edit) Most mechanics don't want anything to do with them. A lot of them operate at 400+ Volts DC which can be more dangerous than 440V AC. DC at those levels will "clamp" you, where AC might let you loose. I remember diagnosing a great big 440V water heater in a factory years ago. I could feel the 60Hz "tingle" through the test leads on my voltmeter. (End edit)

PL&PD, no collision or comp, insurance for my 2010 Smart car (gas engine) alone is ~$1,400/yr. It didn't use to be that expensive to insure a Corvette that long ago. My '92 Sonoma and '13 Tacoma is about another $1,400 now. That stings.

If I hit something with that Clown Car, the only thing that's going to be damaged is me, but I figure I've used up my lifetime supply of fatal automotive collisions when 'Texting Woman' hit me head-on ten years ago and came within a whisker of killing me.

FYI: My first two days in the hospital exhausted her and my insurance coverage. Five years later, I got a big, fat $20,000 check (that's not a typo) and my shyster got $30,000, the minimum, but he hasn't had to live in excruciating pain for the last ten years.

I'm madder at that sleazebag than I am at the woman who hit me. I actually feel sorry for the old gal. She has to live with what she did and probably lived in terror for five plus years waiting for the other shoe to drop (Which I didn't allow to happen. All that would've happened is making an old lady homeless). Diminishing returns and all that.

Her name was Janice something-or-other. I've never seen or talked to her. She was just a stupid old woman from the Meadow Ghetto (Meadowbrook) in New Haven, IN.
