Retailers across the nation faced a "dramatic jump in financial losses" – $112.1 billion in 2022 that is up from $93.9 billion in 2021 and $90.8 billion in 2020 – due to unprecedented levels of organized retail crime, according to the National Retail Federation (NRF).

297 Billion dollars over three years. Pretty soon this will start adding up to real money!

The most successful -- by a wide margin -- product I ever designed was an electronic anti-theft device. Retail stores attach it to high-cost items, and the checkout girl has a special key-like tool to remove the device from the product. If stolen, it sets off the store alarm (via big antennas at the door -- you've seen 'em) and it also sets off a LOUD alarm on the device itself, loud enough to hear in a parking lot. If a thief surreptitiously and forcibly removes the device from the product inside the store, it detects that and the device alarms inside the store. The company I designed it for sold millions and millions of them, and is still selling them as far as I know. I still see 'em in stores all the time.

About 1.5g of C6 would do wonders...
