We've had illegal alien communities here in South Carolina for over 20 years. In 2004, Dr. Elaine Lacy, professor of Hispanic Studies and such at the University of South Carolina, estimated that the number of illegal aliens in South Carolina was 535,000. I live here, and I estimate that there are probably twice that number here now, and adding their US-born children, probably over 2 million. In a state with an official census population of 5.2 million. The real number for total population is probably over 7 million. What used to be cotton fields and pastures are all subdivisions now. Hispanics dominate almost all the trades here -- roofing, framing, drywall, painting, concrete. They're even doing electrical now.
