Dogs, AFAIK, are insectivores and will eat live bugs along with other sources of protein when left to their own devices.

But I don't think they are big on cooked bugs husks.

I was persuaded to try a bite of a spicy fried grasshopper at a toney Mexican place. It was not an experience that I'd repeat.
