Before Identity politics and social media joined forces, people used to vote their economic interests. Back in the day, Democrats used to pretend to represent the interests of union workers. They always began their fall presidential campaigns with a rousing speech in Detroit to stir up unionized workers. That was before the Clintons, Al Gore and Joe Biden passed NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement) in 1993 which closed 80,000 US manufacturing plants. Obama bailed out General Motors by sending manufacturing jobs overseas so today the Democrats no longer start their presidential campaigns in Detroit.
Supposedly, we are in a post industrial society where your Identity is more important than anything tangible, such as, a job, a profession or a small business. But in reality we are in a bubble that is about to burst worldwide and not just in the US. Unfortunately, lots of foreign nations will be be taken down when the US collapses some time before November 2024.
In the 1930s Wassily Leontief did an empirical study of the American economy. He began with the outputs of extractive industries like mining, oil, timber and farming and traced those commodities to the industries that bought them and used them to make steel, gasoline, diesel and aluminum. Then he traced each layer of production to the next level. His conclusion was that America used its abundant resources and its skilled labor to add value to what they had extracted from the ground to give American workers a higher standard of living than their European brothers and sisters.
Economists after WW II discovered that Leontief's rosy description of America was completely undone when the Elite had pushed our population past 150 million and we had to start importing raw materials for industry.
Today the US has 857 military bases overseas which it pays for by printing I Owe You Nothing Federal Reserve Notes. Foreigners are paying the US military to occupy their nations by accepting Federal Reserve Notes as if they were gold.
Ron Paul said that the US went off the gold exchange standard in 1971 and went on the US military standard. Examples would be the bombing of Iraq and Libya for not selling oil for dollars. Iraq wanted to sell oil for euros and and Libya wanted a gold backed African dollar to protect Africans from predatory colonialist bankers.
Since the passage of NAFTA the Elite has added 103 million people - mostly through legal and illegal immigration - while they sent a lot of manufacturing jobs overseas. The Elite again decided to print trillions of I Owe You Nothing Federal Reserve Notes to maintain the illusion of prosperous workers.
Hollywood shoots lots of films and TV shows in California and in other immigration impacted states. A realistic TV show set in San Jose would show a a million dollar home in a gang infested neighborhood and our young, struggling couple paying a mere $1,000 a month to live in a garage.
The reality is that life is barely tolerable in America for working people starting out trying to save money to buy a million dollar home while paying off their college loans. That life will be intolerable when we stop getting things like cars, electronics, games and clothes for free from foreigners. An American might not think things at the mall and on new car lots are free but ask him to first pay $20,000 for 2 ounces of gold so he can buy a fancy TV. When, not if, the Dollar Dies, the average US wage will be permanently cut 60% or more.
There are two major problems that are about to prick the Social Media Bubble in which the illusion of Identity politics exists.
The first is the complete undoing of the US Military's ability to replace gold as the backing of the Federal Reserve Note.
The Ukraine is attempting to replace their older Soviet era air defenses with the latest America has to offer. The Germans are sending the Ukraine some Patriot missiles which did not protect Saudi Arabia from Yemen so what will they do against more modern Russian missiles? Not much.
The President of Belarus has said that things will not go well for the Ukraine. Since he was involved in military discussions with the Russians, it would seem that the Russian juggernaut is to be released late in December from Belarus. No more Mr Nice Guy. They will likely cut the power grid and the train lines at Sumy (just west of Kharkov) but the major target will be to encircle Kiev. Ukrainian trains are electric so they are scrambling for older coal fired trains. There are indications that the area on the far side of the Dnieper river in Kiev might be evacuated. The Ukrainians and the Russians will both pull men from the Donbass but the latter have air supremacy and can use trains. The Ukrainians will suffer major losses attempting to move men, equipment and supplies across the snow pack.
The point is that the whole world will see that the US - due to the tens of trillions of dollars stolen from the Pentagon and the Treasury - does not have very good weapons. The US Navy still has subsonic cruise missiles. The Russians unveiled a Mach 3 cruise missile in 2002 and are replacing them with the Mach 9 Zircon. This means the Russians can plaster the Ukraine with Mach 3 cruise missiles which will cost them nothing. The Russians are replacing the Iskander with the Kinzhal which is Mach 12, hits with a kinetic force of 8,800 pounds (3,992 Kgs) and digs a hole 98 feet (30 meters) deep. They Russians gave the Iranians the Kinzhal missile when Nikolai Patrushev, the head of the Russian Security Council, visited Iran. The Iranians will be busily producing Kinzhal missiles so they won't miss their older missiles with 1,200 pound (544 Kgs) warheads which will also soon be plastering the Ukraine.
Hint: Expect the Iranians to unveil a surprise for the Americans in Syria and Iraq some time in early summer of 2023 if not sooner. I believe Iran also was upgraded to the S-400 which as Asians they will not reveal until they can impress the Americans.
My point is that the western media has been lying about how well things are going for the Ukraine. The lies will be undone by a very harsh reality.
The NATO countries have given the Ukraine more money than Russia spends on its entire military budget. The Russians are on a strict budget so they cannot afford to drag out this war a lot longer. They have to make quick work of Kiev.
The other major problem for the US Military replacing gold as the backing for the US dollar is that we have an interest bearing currency which requires us to pay interest on money Bankers created out of nothing. American workers had to pay $706 billion in taxes last year just to pay the interest on their fictional debt. With rising rates and a ballooning deficit we could soon be paying a trillion and then two trillion dollars a year in interest on that fictional debt. The US budget deficit for September was $430 billion.
People overseas are probably tired of working all day long to let Americans pay them for their labors in worthless I owe You Nothing Federal Reserve Notes.
Vladimir Putin's friend Sergey Glazyev has a solution. Dr Glazyev is the Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics for the Eurasian Union. He wants to invite the Global South to the next BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) where they will be told to refuse to repay all loans denominated in dollars, pounds, euros and yen. That will reduce the value of our bank accounts, pensions, saving and paychecks to zero. That and 2 quadrillion in derivatives will blow away whatever is there now in DC and on Wall Street.
