De Blasio is a dirt bag.

When I lived in Chicago, John Hoellen was the lone Republican in Chicago City Council. He said of my Grandfather, "He was the good Democrat among us."

When we moved to 40th Ward I was working for the Republican Committeeman, circulating petitions and as a Judge of Elections and as a poll watcher. One day I was walking past his office and he waved me inside. He asked if I was working. I told him I was not. He said, "I will get you a job." He told me to get my license to drive a truck and then go downtown and take the test for Highway Maintainer.

When I was taking the test downtown here were a lot of black guys taking it too and many of them were scratching their heads. It was a common sense test. I was maybe 4th one to finish.

I got my letter of appointment about a month later. When I reported to Northbrook yard I handed that letter to Lead, Lead Worker. He read it and said, "We haven't had a Probation here in three years." What that meant is that I had clout.

I put in for a transfer after 8 years there. The current engineer at that time called HQ and told them, "Don't send him where he wants to go. Send him far away."

They sent me where I waned to go. The Engineer asked, "Who did you tell?"

I told him, "I told my Chinaman. Who did you think I told?" My Chinaman was my clout.

When I got to the Arlington yard the Lead, Lead was the same one as when I was first at Northbrook. I had my right arm in a sling because of an Epicondylectomy I had to have done. They gave me 10% disability for that injury. But I still have full range of motion.

There was a guy in the office telling the Lead, Lead he was the best Lute Man. The Lute was he aluminum finishing rake for asphalt patches. I was lute man at Northbrook and that is why I had my arm in a sling.

He told that guy, "You're not the best Lute man. He is (pointing a me). But he can't do that right now."

To make a long story short, when I finally got on the Lute, the guy who was the Lead, Lead at that time told the guy who was on the Lute, "Why didn't you tell me he could do that?"

Anyway I stayed at the Arlington yard for another eight years or so and had a few back injuries tacked onto everything else.

I retired from State Highways and started to drive trucks OTR and did that even after I moved out of state. At one time I was driving coast to coast.

One time I was bringing load of Mexican produce from Yuma, Arizona and heading to Indian casino in New Mexico to take my break. It was just about sunset. I was on 2-lane road. I come around a curve and the headlights fell on a brown object in road. It was an ELK!

I hit brakes and moved as far right as possible without dropping steer tire off pavement. I just missed hitting it.

So I put out broadcast on CB radio that there were Elk out here.

Some other driver comes back and says, "Elk! I haven't seen Elk in a long time."

I told him, "You don't want to see these Elk, driver. They are too close to the road, I almost hit one."

Elk come down from nearby mountains. ;)
