Electric vehicles cannot and will not "transition the world to sustainable energy", and Musk knows that. Every engineer and physicist in the world knows that. The energy to power electric vehicles has to be generated somehow, either in a power generating plant -- where more than half comes from natural gas, coal, or petroleum, and another 20% nuclear -- or by a "renewable" generating means such as wind, hydro, or solar. But these "renewable" sources are only about 7% of the total.

Americans use about 400 million gallons of gasoline a day, and that's a lot of energy. Neither this country's nor any other developed country's electrical power distribution system could handle the additional load that a wide scale switch from petroleum fueled to electric vehicles would require. The energy required to radically expand the infrastructure would be horrendous. And the energy required to produce and operate an electric vehicle (EV) is on average higher than that of an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.

The government's pushing to replace ICE vehicles with EVs is designed to limit the mobility of the American people in accordance with Agenda 21 and its successor plans.
