I get on the Chicago Outfit Facebook page since it helps me to remember growing up in Chicago.
The way that all started was I told a story about this guy that was knocking over Speak Easys during Phohibition.
Capone put the hit on them, so they took it on the lamb to Boston. He said they got back about a month later. Capone's boys grabbed them and brought them in front of Big Al.
He told me, "We were standing there with our hats in our hands, "We're sorry Mr. Capone. We won't ever do it again." And Capone said, "Yeah, well hit someone else's joints. Now get outta here."
I would say they got off pretty easy. They were just kids. A lot of them got a pair of cement overshoes and were taken for a swim in the lake.
