The color is truly lifelike, the photography razor-sharp.

John Williams who plays the insurance guy /////////gained fame too as the star of a frequently telecast commercial for 120 Music Masterpieces, a four-LP set of classical music excerpts from Columbia House.[6] This became the longest-running nationally seen commercial in U.S. television history, for 13 years from 1971 to 1984. The commercial began with a brief selection of orchestral music being played. Williams then began the sales promotion with the following:

I'm sure you recognise this lovely melody as 'Stranger in Paradise'. But did you know that the original theme is from the Polovetsian Dance No. 2 by Borodin? So many of the tunes of our well-known popular songs were actually written by the great masters—like these familiar themes...////////// -- wikid.

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs

Could not care less. I should call myself Jesse just to preempt any outside attempts at controlling my identity and ovaries and/or whatever.

Why Jesse? Are you going to explain? Is somebody after your ovaries?

Just curious -- did anybody watch it, is anybody already a fan of this flick?

Am curious how any who did (or are) fared at following the plot. Brigitte and company (her father and Bertani) just stole for the usual mundane reasons, right?

Normally the moral lines are a bit straiter than this in flicks of the period. Robie's "Go straight to Start and collect $200" ticket was being a Robin Hood type in his thievery. His old gang the kitchen staff are "paroled for their work in the French Resistance during World War II as long as they keep clean. Bertani, Foussard, and the others angrily blame Robie because they are all under suspicion so long as the new Cat is active" -- wikid, yet they fought in the French resistance, which normally gives fictional characters a perfect angelic aura, a stainless moral penumbra -- where jew-helpers walk, lilies bloom.
