I lived in Austin when LBJ was president. He and Lady Bird would fly into Bergstrom AFB on Air Force One, then helicopter to the ranch. Lady Bird said she wanted to see something green when they arrived, as Texas can be pretty brown during the summer, so they had the concrete around the flag pole and the fire truck that met Air Force One painted green !!!
