On December 9, 2007, 24-year old Matthew J. Murray killed four people and wounded five others at a religious retreat center and a Christian church in Colorado. Prior to his murder spree, Murray has wrote "God, I can't wait till I can kill you people. Feel no remorse, no sense of shame, I don't care if I live or die in the shoot-out. All I want to do is kill and injure as many of you ... as I can especially Christians who are to blame for most of the problems in the world." 37 year old Jeanne Assam, a former police officer and volunteer security guard, was at church and took the gunman out. "It seemed "It seemed like it was me, the gunman and God," Assam recalled. "I took him down." Assam said she was praying to the "Holy Spirit" during the confrontation.

Thanks, I don't recall hearing about this righteous shooting.

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken
