Not sure why anyone would want to be a Libertarian in Red Deer though.

That doesn't make any sense.

Well, honestly it does make sense. People involved in Politics trying to make change start up a group with the idea of a Libertarian govt. in Canada.

Sure.

Maybe it's a good idea. I dunno. I try to stay away from politics. Those politicians make it look bad.

Not sure why anyone would want to be a Libertarian in Red Deer though.

Ever since the Social Credit government of Alberta "stole" the mineral rights from under the land of property owners over a half century ago the huge oil revenues have been squandered on ever-growing, meddlesome, initiative-stifling bureaucracies at the provincial and municipal levels rather than being invested for future use as Norway has done or into a first-class infrastructure. The most important industrial facility on the continent at Ft. McMurray does not have a divided highway. Transportation in Edmonton, for example, is second rate, lacking in grade separations at many high-volume intersections and rail transit is a Rube Goldberg concoction with surface rail between stations interfering with motor traffic and awkward underground and surface stations, just the reverse of an optimum system. Tunneling between stations would be costly but would not mean more in taxes or borrowings if the myriad of bureaucrats were redeployed in this rather than their self-assumed role of micromanaging peoples lives.

I came across the site by googling Freedom Forum and noted they were for "less government."

Thank you. I lived in Edmonton for 6 years. I remember the rail transit. I imagine a Libertarian govt might be better for everyone, just can't see it happening. Seems like everyone's brainwashed.
