I've had Mickey the pug, who is a one-eyed rescue pug, about four months. Since it's summer, I shave his fur once a week to about a millimeter long. I pour water on him, and keep fresh water in my van. I have ice-cold AC in the van. Today, I got out of my van for five minutes to go into a store. It's not like I can take Mickey in there. I leave both front windows down, poured cool water on him, and parked in the shade.
When I came out, a woman, about 40, was standing by my van. The front door was ajar, which meant she had opened my door. She was on her cellphone. She was wearing sunglasses.
As I walked to the van, she said to me, "I've called the police about you leaving your dog in this heat."
I don't tolerate anything off of anyone. I checked her out, then said, "Lady, I suggest you mind your own business, like maybe the fact you are divorced because you have no ring on your finger. If you have boys they're in trouble, aren't they? Drugs? On psychiatric drugs? You know why? Because anyone who would do something like this is an unfit mother. You don't know anything about me or my dog, and the police will do nothing to me."
She looked shocked and took a step backward. Then she said, "You just wait until the police get here!"
I told her again the police would do nothing to me, but since I had other things to do, I wouldn't be here when they showed up.
Then I left.
She opened my door and apparently got in my van.
I told a friend about it and he said he had seen similar things, always involving stupid women sticking their nose into things they know nothing about and which are none of their business.
The first coins in the U.S. had "Mind Your Business" on them. They should still have them.
