Chuck Baldwin Defeats Alan Keyes for Constitution Party Nomination Posted by Eric A. Garris at April 26, 2008 10:11 AM

The Constitution Party just overwhelmingly defeated the warmongering neocon Alan Keyes by nominating Chuck Baldwin, 383 to 125.

Last night, CP founder Howard Phillips strongly denounced Keyes as a warmonger, neocon, and egomanic. Phillips was subsequently attacked by Jim Clymer, the CP national chairman.

In spite of Keyes bringing in a lot of delegates, the CP remained true to their anti-interventionist views and rejected Keyes.

This is wonderful news. I didn't know how right this is until I saw Keyes in an interview.

am one of the few who can say that I am STILL proud of the vote I cast in 2004 for the Peroutka/Baldwin ticket...they didn't win, but I have a CLEAN conscience.

You and me both can sleep at night. What if Baldwin chooses RP at his VP!???????????!!!!!!!

I will be SUPREMELY surprised if Ron Paul endorses Barr over Baldwin...of course, not much surprises me anymore, so strike that.

Same here.

We could see Paul endorse McAsshole before this is over I suppose.

No way. He would kill the credibility of all future endorsements, and perhaps that of up and coming candidates that wanted to follow in his footsteps. I just honestly can not see it, ever. Never ever. Ever. Nope. Sorry. No cigar. Zip.

What if Baldwin chooses RP at his VP!?

That would be sweet, but I'm guessing there's some law in place that would disenfranchise Dr Paul from his run at his seat in Congress. I agree with his stance that losing that seat would open up the opportunity for the neocons to use it as a hectoring tool. "Voters reject soveriegnty", all that customary nonsense.

He would be better able serve the people and a Baldwin administration as a congressman rather than as a cabinet member.

Ron Paul has already taken the Establishment's best shot in that District race.

It would be SWEET if the bass turds meet in Minnesota and continue to pile on Ron Paul and his delegates.

Then, Ron can walk away having won AND having stuck it to them, finally, at the Convention...IMO

There's no war to win being the lone voice in the House of Representatives, imo...a Baldwin/Paul ticket might be a way of getting around Ron Paul not being able to run for POTUS as a pubbie in some 8 or so States.

A Baldwin/Paul ticket is probably out of the realm of possibility, most likely because Ron is not up for it, but it would certainly garner a heckuva lot of votes imo.

No real Ron Paul-American can support or vote for McHillObama...

You have to WIN first!!

There should be plenty of little Paul-people that are running and hopefully at least one can win and take "Ron's spot" in Congress as the lone dissenter...

I go back to one, Michael New, and Keyes saying he'd jail him for refusing to take orders from a UN military commander.

And when Alan Keyes made that stupid statement he relegated himself to the bottom of the barrel with the rest of the scum for me. Michael New is a hero and the country needs more men like him, not fewer.

"They just rejected the most qualified man to be president," said Tom Hoefling of Lohrville, Iowa, Keyes' national political director. "Chuck Baldwin will have no impact on this election whatsoever."

We have squandered too much blood and treasure, for another narcissistic egomaniac. Thanks but no thanks.

Well, if you take the votes that Chuck will probably get and those that Ron will probably get, assuming they are counted, I would say that it would make a difference. A big difference in a close election. I think whoever says that men like Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul "won't make any difference" are whistling past the graveyard.

Chuck Baldwin will be the next canary in the coal mine of Constitutional America...God bless him for being willing to get out there and make the run!

That we have a choice and Party that with clear conscience we can register our support for limited/Constitutional governance, anti-war, freedom-minded, liberty-loving people at the top...not to mention leading anti-NAUer H. Phillips...I say REGISTER OUR VOICE AGAINST THE CABAL with Baldwin for President!

Don't much see how he could. Ron's delegates will be at the R convention and Chuck will be heading the Constitution Party. Of course if the CP has their convention AFTER the R's have theirs I would imagine Ron's delegates would be free to support anyone they wanted to.

You know that's leverage right there.. If no candidate.... The Geezer, the Pleaser or The Freezer (props to Jay Leno), has enough delegates for a legitimate nomination, I can't imagine what that throws us into.

One mentioned that unless McCain recieves enough delegates, the nomination process could wind up in court.
