Man at Fox Town Hall Busts Bloomberg for Pushing Gun Control When He Has Armed Security, ‘Does Your Life Matter More Than Mine?

Red State Of Mind Daily March 3, 2020

Mike Bloomberg got busted during a Fox town hall on his gun control stance on Monday in Virginia, a stop that’s become a hot bed of defense of Second Amendment rights with the efforts to take away guns in the state.

Bloomberg is well known for making extreme comments when it comes to gun control and being behind the radical Moms Demand group.

An audience member, Clarke Chitty, asked Bloomberg how he could justify being for more gun control when he has an “armed security detail.”

From Daily Caller:

“How do you justify pushing for more gun control when you have an armed security detail that’s likely equipped with the same firearms and magazines that you seek to ban the common citizen from owning?” the man asked at a Monday evening Fox News town hall in Manassas, Virginia.

“Does your life matter more than mine or my family’s or these peoples’?” The audience loved the question and cheered resoundingly for it. Gotta love it, perfectly stated.

Bloomberg’s answer, for what would seem a likely question he might get, was pretty bad. It was basically he was rich and running for President, so he gets threats, so it’s cool for him. If you are adversely impacted, oh, well.

“Look, I probably get 40 or 50 threats every week, ok, and some of them are real,” Bloomberg responded.”That just happens when you are the mayor of New York City or you are very wealthy, and if you are campaigning for the president of the United States you get lots of threats.”

Yes, and some people live in dangerous neighborhoods or face their own threats. So? What’s your explanation for wanting to restrict their rights?

He claimed that his security was “well trained” and that he really wasn’t trying to restrict anyone’s right.

“Let me talk about firearms for a second,” he continued. “The Second Amendment gives you the right to bear arms. Nobody suggests that we’re gonna change the Constitution, even if you wanted to I don’t think you’d get it done, so nobody’s gonna take your right to bear arms. The Supreme Court said you can have reasonable restrictions. The only restrictions which I’m in favor of is to prevent us from selling guns to people with psychiatric problems, criminals or people that are minors.”

That of course isn’t true, he’s argued for a lot more than that including restricting even on the number of bullets a weapon should be allowed to shoot (he wanted to cap it as three, saying “if you haven’t killed the deer by then, maybe it should get away).

People called him out for the lies at the Fox town hall.

Bloomberg also lied about no background checks at gun shows an internet sales.

Protesters tried to disrupt at the end of the question but Fox then went to commercial to clear them away. It sounded like they were anti gun-control people.

Good for Mr. Chitty -- hope Mighty Mike gets more embarrassment on the subject.

But every mayor of NYC gets threats, the implication being physical harm or death? Can that be true -- speshly since a known conman said it?

Mini-Mike is an elitist.

That and an idiot.

Mini-Mike gets in late, spends a stupifying butt-load of money, and has to exit early.

It's simply beyond reason to me that millions of democrats take this candidate clown show seriously.

It scares ya to contemplate the sheer numbers of brain dead voters there are in this country. Those fears are confirned this morning as we see Crazy Joe floating on top of the Stupid Tuesday pond scum.

That's why there should be literacy, citizenship, constitution tests, and poll tax requirements to be able to vote and/or hold office in this country.

The stuff that floats to the top is killing US.

In my lifetime there have been but three NON PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS that became President. Eisenhower, Reagan and Trump. I voted for all three.

It scares me that any American could vote for any Democrat now running. Such are brain dead indeed.

poll tax requirements

Not so sure about that. But Motor Voter should be outlawed. ;)

We learned about and were tested on the Constitution, Bill of Rights and the separation of power in the fifth grade at elementary school back when Heather didn't have two mommies.

They're teaching much more important things now -- like the Hollowcaust and how to fill out a 1040 form.

I wanna run out into the street screaming, "WITF is wrong with all you people? Have you all lost your stinkin' minds???"

But still and all I'm ever on the "How de do?" level with folks most everywhewre on the job or in the hardware for instance. "Yes, sir. No, sir." "Thank you ma'am." I just wanna grab people by thr lapels and give the a good shaking. I am just too damned civil.

And hell, how'd I know Mini-Mike would cut and run this morning? Good riddance there. I won't have to see that humorless kisser on teevee or on the internet for the time being. I've seen better smiles at a funeral.

Good to see you're still in circulation NN.

Why thank you! Things seem back to normal for me here somehow -- guess I'll never know whence the big slump. Didn't know Monster Mike had quit -- fantastic!!!

It can be hard to break thru the public's coma with the truth, but I believe there's a way in most places. Call JBS and ask if they've got anybody in your area, and join if that's what it takes. Try a notice in Craigslist or read the political dialogs there and invite the like minded to join you at a certain spot in the library at a certain time -- have some great right-wing lit with you (will be happy to send you some).

If there's a good letter to the editor try contacting the person.

Spreading the truth takes numerous forms. Get some hot leaflets and sneak them into books on the Hollowcast at the library etc. Or put them on windshields around your towns.

Etc.

I remember still the cartoon presentation of how a Bill becomes a Law.

Here's a modern version:

“The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable.” ~ H. L. Mencken
