How to Uninstall McAfee Antivirus

1. Boot up a live disk of Gparted.

2. Delete the partitions on the hard drive--all of them!*

3. Boot up to a live cd of some flavor Linux--personally I am now using Mint (Cinnamon) and so far it is working very well.

4. Install Linux to your hard drive.

5. No More McAfee Antivirus. And little, if any, need for ANY antivirus.

This is the second machine I'm trying mint 15 cin on (both laptops). 1st one no wireless network (pentium4). This one (core I5) finally got sound on HDMI and dual monitors figured out. Don't really like it at this point. And it keeps crashing or going non responsive on me. I don't have a problem with Win 7. I'd say it's almost ready. I can't dump windows yet, not for this.

I am not having any of those problems with it. Guess maybe it is a difference in hardware. Good luck in getting it to work right for you.
